The aerospace industry has seen its need for fast recovery grow after being hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. They are one of Chihuahua’s primary goals in helping that economy recover, which they have done so successfully through providing jobs and economic opportunities.
Myrna de las Casas, Cluster Aerospace Director in Chihuahua has been pushing for new developments to occur with regards to the aerospace industry. She affirmed that there have already been some highlights from close movements between federal and local governments as well as agreements made on detonating this growing sector of Mexico’s economy.
“One of the field sectors more hit by the pandemic is aeronautics, in the last ten years had a growth of two digits, with the pandemic this has come down. The Chihuahua state is one of the primal aeronautics destinies in México” she said.
The director mentioned that since the state governor, María Eugenia Campos had already been working with aerospace industries when she was mayor of this city. It seems like they are looking to establish these efforts and diversions again.
This year, the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster has been working to bring corporations and foreign investment.
De las Casas mentioned that recently an accord was signed with France’s embassy for them to take part in our state’s development as one of the developing countries within this industry.
At last, she said that one of the projects that nowadays has major development in the aerospace industry in Chihuahua is the one that the french company Safran has been developing in its complex in our state.
